Recorded 0:18 · organized on this device

Okay, walking back from the coffee place. What if the first screen is just a big record button and nothing else? I need to send Maya the pricing draft before Friday. We're going with a free tier that's actually generous. Should projects be suggested or set up front?

01How it works

You do the talking. Ramble does the filing.

  1. Step 1

    Talk

Record in the app with live transcription, drop in an audio file, or paste a transcript from Voice Memos or Wispr Flow.

  2. Step 2

    Ramble files it

On your device, it pulls out to-dos, ideas, decisions and open questions, marks the sentences worth keeping and files the memo under the right project.

  3. Step 3

    Find it later

Every memo lands on its day in the calendar and on its project page. Search brings back the one thing you said three weeks ago.

02Features

A notebook that keeps itself in order.

Everything you say is kept three ways at once: by day, by project and by topic. Nothing to tag, nothing to sort.

Capture

However the thought arrives.

Talk into the app, hand it a recording, or paste something you already wrote.

  • Works offline after your first visit
  • Installable as an app

Organize

Filed where it belongs.

Say “I need to…”, “what if…” or “we’re going with…” and it becomes a to-do, an idea or a decision. Give a project a few keywords and matching memos file themselves.

  • Highlights and topics suggested per memo
  • Add your own items next to the ones it finds

Review

Your days, read back to you.

Each memo lands on the day you said it, tinted by your one-tap mood check-in.

  • Full-text search, narrowed by project, kind, mood or date
  • A weekly digest of what came up, what you decided and what is still open

Own your data

Yours to take anywhere.

Everything lives in your browser. Export it all to one JSON file and import it back whenever you like.

  • Copy any memo as Markdown
  • Delete everything from Settings in one step

06FAQ

Questions, answered.

Short answers on privacy, offline use and getting your data out.

Does my audio get uploaded anywhere?

Whisper transcribes recordings and uploads on your device. Memos are stored locally in IndexedDB. Optional Supabase sync stores memos and audio in your account when you sign in. Live dictation uses your browser’s speech service, which may send audio to the browser maker’s servers.

Does Ramble work offline, and can I install it?

After an initial online visit, you can use the app offline with locally stored memos. On-device Whisper transcription needs an initial model download. Live dictation and account sync may need a connection. Install Ramble from your browser’s install or Add to Home Screen option where supported.

How much does Ramble cost?

Ramble is free. You can start without an account or API keys.

Can I export my data?

Export everything as JSON or Markdown, and copy single memos as Markdown; only JSON can be imported back into Ramble.

Which browsers does it work in?

Ramble works in current Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox. Web Speech live dictation works in Chrome, Edge and Safari. In Firefox, record or upload audio for on-device Whisper transcription, or type and paste text.

Can I import my Voice Memos?

Yes. Upload an audio file, such as an .m4a exported from Voice Memos, for transcription and organization. You can also paste a transcript from Voice Memos, Wispr Flow or another app.

Is it open source?

Yes, under the MIT License. Read the code, run it yourself or contribute on GitHub.
