v2.1.0

Added

  • Looking back on /app: memos from a month, six months and one to five years ago, with "Hide for today".
  • Weekly review at /app/review: look back, open to-dos (done, keep or drop, with Undo), questions, decisions, then a reflection saved as a memo tagged "weekly review". Open it from the digest or the command palette.
  • Saved searches: keep up to 20 on the search page and in the command palette. They stay in this browser and are not synced.
  • Encrypted backup: Settings can export a passphrase-protected file (PBKDF2-SHA-256, 600,000 iterations, then AES-256-GCM) made in your browser. A lost passphrase cannot be recovered.
  • Markdown import: bring in Ramble Markdown exports with their metadata, or plain .md notes, with a preview first. Memos from an export that you already have are skipped, and so is a plain note imported again unchanged.

Changed

  • Import JSON recognizes encrypted backups and asks for the passphrase.
  • Delete all data also clears saved searches, review drafts and recent searches stored in this browser.
  • Settings lists the encrypted backup first and says plainly that the JSON backup is not encrypted. "Clear model cache" only appears once the model is downloaded.
  • More controls reach 44px on touch screens: review links, search clear and filters, dialog close and the save-search dialog.
  • The features page shows the weekly review, and the press kit and screenshots include it.

v2.0.1

Added

  • Press kit download on /press: logos, light and dark screenshots and the license in one zip, built with the site.
  • RSS feed for the changelog at /changelog/rss.xml, linked from the changelog page and its metadata.
  • Docs pages have an "On this page" list that tracks your scroll position, a breadcrumb, and keyboard keys shown as keys.

Changed

  • Timeline memo cards fit their metadata to the space available. Topics that don't fit collapse into a "+n" count that lists them for screen readers, longer counts ellipsize, and project names are never cut mid-letter.
  • Calendar mood shades use separate light and dark steps so neighboring moods are easier to tell apart in both themes.
  • Docs pages open with a lede paragraph, and page titles end with a period like the rest of the site.
  • Calls to action read "Start rambling"; privacy and about copy is shorter and says what is stored where.
  • Footer links and the header GitHub icon have 44px touch targets.

Fixed

  • Project cards said "1 memos" and "1 open to-dos".
  • The demo screenshots now show a memo filed under a project.

v2.0.0

Changed — Foolscap redesign

  • New visual system: warm paper palette, Newsreader and Hanken Grotesk type, a single vermilion accent reserved for Record and focus, and a ruled 28px baseline.
  • Redesigned public pages: landing, features, docs, press and the privacy ledger.
  • Redesigned app shell, timeline ledger, memo detail with a side rail, calendar, digest and stats.
  • The composer is now record-first.

Added

  • Command palette, opened with Cmd+K (macOS) or Ctrl+K.
  • Search filters: project:<name> and topic:<name> tokens (quote values with spaces), combined with the filter bar.
  • Search browse lists of topics and projects when the query is empty.
  • Decisions ledger at /app/decisions, listing decisions and open questions.
  • /status page and /api/health endpoint reporting version, commit and whether sync is configured.
  • Local-only diagnostics in Settings; events stay on your device.
  • Open Graph images for the main public pages.
  • Light and dark 2x screenshots of the redesigned app, written to public/screenshots.

Removed

  • The cmdk dependency.
  • The old screenshots in docs/screenshots.

v1.1.0

Added

  • Installable app: web manifest, icons, robots.txt and sitemap.
  • Offline support with a service worker, an offline page and an update toast.
  • Composer draft autosave.
  • Undo for delete (6 seconds) and sharing a memo.
  • Pinned memos are always visible on the timeline.
  • Stats page at /app/stats.
  • Markdown export of a day or a weekly digest.
  • Settings Storage section with “Protect my memos” (persistent storage).
  • Sample memo on first run.
  • Accessibility skip link and other accessibility fixes.
  • Project: CI, release automation, issue and pull request templates, Dependabot, community files and more tests.

Fixed

  • Storage quota errors are now surfaced to the user.

v1.0.0

Added

  • Capture three ways: live dictation, on-device Whisper for uploaded audio (WebGPU or WASM), or paste a transcript.
  • Automatic organization: titles with the gist, highlights without filler, clean topics, and checkable to-dos, ideas, decisions and questions.
  • Review tools: timeline, mood-tinted calendar, weekly digest, ranked search and a command palette.
  • Local-first storage with JSON export/import and optional Supabase sync protected by row-level security.

Security

  • Content-Security-Policy, framing disabled, microphone restricted, nosniff and a strict referrer policy.
  • Pinned Whisper model revision.
  • Safer import: known fields only, oversized files refused before reading.

Fixed

  • Transcription retries on WebAssembly in a fresh worker if WebGPU fails.
  • One set of data limits across the app, backups and database (new migration).
  • Sync pages past the database's 1,000-row response cap.

v0.3.0

Changed

  • Smarter on-device analysis: titles carry the gist, highlights skip scene-setting, topics are cleaner, lists are tidier.
  • Digest items are dated and grouped by their source memo; calendar opens on today and offers “New memo for this day”.
  • Search focus style and result meta row aligned with the timeline; card source moved into the meta line.
  • Mobile More sheet; Ramble lockup in sidebar and header; honest “coming soon” sync pricing.

Added

  • README with screenshots, docs/ARCHITECTURE.md and MIT license.

v0.2.0

Added

  • Weekly digest with mood trend, open to-dos and project rollups.
  • Command palette (Ctrl/Cmd+K) and keyboard shortcuts.
  • Retroactive project filing from keywords.
  • More human-sounding memo titles.

Changed

  • Polished brand, memo detail, calendar, digest, list views, search, settings and composer.

v0.1.0

Added

  • Capture by paste, live recording or audio upload, with on-device Whisper transcription.
  • On-device organization: title, highlights, topics, project filing, to-dos, ideas, decisions and questions.
  • Timeline, memo detail, calendar, ranked search, and cross-memo to-dos, ideas and decisions.
  • Projects with keywords, settings, JSON/Markdown export and import.
  • Optional Supabase accounts with row-level security.
