Ramble

About

A place for your thoughts to land.

A free, open-source voice journal that helps you find what matters in your own words.

What it is

Ramble is a voice-memo journal. Record, upload or paste to create a titled memo with highlights, to-dos, ideas, decisions and open questions, organized by day, project and topic.

Why it exists

A running document per day is easy to start and hard to use. Entries pile up, tasks get buried, and it becomes hard to find what mattered. Ramble keeps the easy part: saying what is on your mind. It does the filing so you can find and act on your thoughts later. Your own words stay the source of truth. Nothing is rewritten.

How it is built

Ramble is built with Next.js. Uploaded audio is transcribed on your device by Whisper through transformers.js, and your journal is stored locally in IndexedDB. Optional Supabase sync lets you access your data across devices.

Live dictation uses your browser’s speech service; see the privacy ledger.

Who makes it

Ramble is made by one person, @ysta32. It is free and open source under the MIT License. You can read, use and contribute to the source code on GitHub.
