Getting started.
Ramble is a voice-memo journal that runs in your browser. You need no account and nothing to install.
Open the app
Go to /app. With no configuration, Ramble runs in local mode and keeps everything in your browser's IndexedDB. Your first visit includes a sample memo that shows what the filing looks like. Delete it whenever you like.
Make your first memo
- Press R, or choose New memo and pick Record, Upload or Paste.
- Say what is on your mind, upload an audio file, or paste text you already wrote.
- Save. You can also press CtrlEnter or CmdEnter in the text box.
Ramble saves the transcript first, then files it: a title, two to four highlight sentences, topics, and any to-dos, ideas, decisions and questions. Your own words are never rewritten.
Where things are
- Timeline lists memos by day. Pinned memos stay at the top.
- Calendar, Digest and Stats are ways to review.
- To-dos, Ideas and Decisions collect extracted items across all memos.
- Search and Projects find and group memos.
- Settings holds data export, storage protection, the Whisper model and the dictation language.
Install it
Ramble ships a web manifest, so your browser can install it as an app. A service worker caches the app shell for offline use. The first visit warms the cache, and offline coverage is reliable from the second load.
